How microneedling works at Reveal
Your senior therapist starts by cleansing your skin and applying a hydrating serum to prepare the surface. The DermaPen 4 is then moved across the treatment area in a consistent, controlled pattern. The depth and intensity are adjusted zone by zone - finer around the eye area, deeper where the skin is more resilient.
The micro-channels created during treatment signal your skin that it needs to repair itself. That repair response produces new collagen and elastin - which is exactly what most skin concerns come down to: not enough of both.
The channels close within hours. The collagen-building response they trigger develops over the following four to six weeks, which is why spacing treatments a month apart delivers such different results from booking sessions back to back.
Most clients describe the sensation as mild prickling. Numbing cream is available on request. The full treatment takes around 45 to 60 minutes and your skin will look flushed for a few hours afterwards before settling.

How many microneedling sessions do you need?
One session of microneedling gives a result. You'll notice improved texture, a freshness and more plumpness in the skin within days of your treatment. That result is real.
But one session is the beginning of a process, not the full outcome.
Skin cells turn over roughly every 28 days. Each treatment triggers a collagen response that runs its course over that cycle. By your next appointment your skin is at a better starting point than before - and the next treatment builds from there.
By treatment three, the cumulative shift in texture, firmness and clarity is something clients consistently describe as genuinely different skin, not just better skin.
For most clients we recommend starting with a package of three sessions spaced four weeks apart. For deeper concerns - significant scarring, more advanced loss of firmness or texture issues - a package of five delivers noticeably greater results.

The needle depth is controlled and adjusted zone by zone, the device creates uniform channels at a consistent angle and the results are both more effective and more predictable. At-home dermal rollers work on a much more superficial level and carry a higher risk of inconsistent results or irritation.

We space treatments four weeks apart. This aligns with your skin's natural cell turnover cycle and gives each treatment time to do its full job before the next one begins. Booking sessions closer together than four weeks doesn't allow the collagen response to complete - and actually reduces the cumulative result.

No significant downtime. Your skin will be flushed for a few hours after treatment and may feel slightly sensitive for a day or two. Most clients return to their normal routine the following day. We recommend keeping skin simple and avoiding active ingredients for five days post-treatment.

Microneedling is suitable for most skin types. A brief consultation with your therapist before your first session ensures the treatment is the right fit for your skin. Please let us know before booking if you have active acne breakouts, rosacea, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are on blood-thinning medications.
